Tron is a product of PT Teknologi Olah Rancang Nusantara which is an affiliate of Digiasia Bios. David himself was previously the CFO of PayPro. For its implementation, Tron cooperates with Via, a United States technology company. No Via shares are placed in the company.
David explained, Via is the right partner to modify public transportation systems from regulated systems with scheduled routes to demand and dynamic transportation. Via has a special algorithm for it all. As a result, consumers can get certainty of travel time, when the driver gets to the destination, and so on.
"Globally, Tron's technology has been recognized. They have operated in more than 60 cities in 15 countries. We want to enter per city because the maps for each [route] are different so it takes time to integrate them into Tron. "
TRON Business Model
David explained that users who want to use Tron simply download the application, then determine the pickup location that is passed by the transport or wait at the virtual stop determined by Tron. This virtual stop can be a location that is commonly used by drivers to wait and transport passengers. The driver will pick up according to the pickup point if there is a customer making a request.
Users can order more than one bench for colleagues who go together. Later, Tron will recommend transportation modes according to your request.
"We call this concept controlled flexibility. There is a special route made to bring the driver closer to the passenger in the settlement. So this option can only be passed by the driver if there is a request. "
The way the driver works will change. They do not need to focus on looking for passengers by lingering at one point because passengers are certain to get through Tron. They are no longer chased by deposits, only need to improve their services so that users are comfortable.
Currently the new application accommodates payments using cash. The plan will soon be integrated with KasPro and other electronic money players.
According to David, if the cashless option is available, the tariff will follow the applicable rules. There is no artificial tariff from Tron specifically for users. Users will be charged a booking fee plus rates that are immediately deducted every time you make a transaction.
"The driver will get incentives and daily wages according to the rules. We also bear the rent and gasoline costs. There are no subscription fees for drivers. We do not allow the driver to fire to operate Tron. There is verification that must be done. "
Bekasi was chosen as the Tron pilot project, because it is a satellite city adjacent to Jakarta. Availability of public transport in this city is on the verge of extinction. Nevertheless, the Government of Bekasi City was interested in the concept of Tron because it wanted to revive public transportation.
Tron began with 150 units of public transportation divided into two routes, K-11 which was divided into three routes and K-12 consisting of one route. Gradually the implementation of Tron will target the entire city of Bekasi so that it can be enjoyed by all residents.
Tron's strategy and plan
Tron will expand its penetration to five Jakarta suburbs, such as Tangerang and Depok. The company is preparing to collaborate with various public transport managers, such as Koasi (Koperasi Angkutan Bekasi), Organda (Land Transportation Organization), and so on to attract public transport owners.
David targets at least this year the company can digitize 7 thousand public transport units, which consist of various types of modes, such as city transportation, bajaj, buses, mikrolet, and others that have not been touched by digital implementation.
"Our investors are serious enough to develop Tron so that it is integrated with various types of public transportation that connects the MRT and KRL lines. In fact, we are ready to recruit city planning experts to help with mapping systems in each city so that they are increasingly available in Tron. "
Regarding the strategy with the big players, David said that the company has a strong proposition because it has a vision to digitize public transportation so that it still has value in the field. Public transportation is the official yellow-plated transportation mode from the government so that Tron is expected not to add full vehicles on the road.
